We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor at our Benalla Site. Reporting to the Site Operations Manager; the key aims of the role will be to manage the manufacturing teams; ensuring that customer expectations in terms of quality, cost, and delivery time are met whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety.
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Provide effective and robust leadership to a skilled and multi-disciplined team including day-to-day labor-management - contract labor, casual labor, and overtime requirements
- Ensure targets for the shifts are met, reacting quickly to immediate issues whilst proposing and implementing longer-term continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify training needs and skill gaps for the group ensuring appropriate measures are taken to upskill and cross train the team as required
- Drive and support SIM, Lean, 5S & continuous improvement initiatives and methodologies
- Conduct performance appraisals and management as required
- Ordering of non- production purchase (NPP) items via SAP
- Ensure a culture reflective of the highest safety standards are maintained
- Conducting L1 Safety inspections, incident investigations and action, risk assessments and ergonomic assessments
Success in this role will require the following attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Extensive experience managing teams in a similar manufacturing environment
- Solid and comprehensive understanding of a lean manufacturing environment
- Demonstrable experience in a matrix-style business organization and the need for collaboration to achieve results
- Highly organized, honed problem-solving skills complemented by exceptional attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Competent with MS Office suite, and email systems with SAP experience advantageous
